>>51310358It's weird, because if you look at the numbers most of the last few generations aren't even all that short. They're still around 3 years from one to the next, which is the standard for mainline games. But they have so much else going on it feels wrong. Gen I (1996) to Gen II (1999) was 3 years, II to III (2002) was 3 years, III to IV (2006) was 4 years, IV to V (2010) was 4 years, V to VI (2013) was 3 years, VI to VII (2016) was 3 years, VII to VIII (2019) was 3 years, and now VIII to IX (2022) is 3 years. It feels weird, but it's only been sped up a little more than typical.
The main issue was the DLC and the 2 other mainline spinoff games for some reason. Not to mention Let's Go between VII and VIII. It just feels like they've been trying to make Pokemon an annual series when that doesn't really benefit us or the work they do.
