Leon isn't liked for the following:
- Super shit design that is not appealing at all. It's an eyesore
- On top of that, he sports a king motif, making him look like a douche, pretentious faggot
- Everyone in the game sucks his dick and you don't really see why. Sure, he is undefeated and all that, but doesn't feel earned
- To compensate him being "perfect" they give him a "fun and wacky" defect: he gets lost everytime. Totally tired trope that is more annoying than amusing and leads to the "Whenever Poochie is not on screen, everyone will say 'where is Poochie?' " effect
- For being an undefeated champion, his team doesn't look very impressive. Compare that to Cynthia, who opens the battle with a Pokémon that you are almost guaranteed you've never seen, which also has no weaknesses in the generation it was introduced in, which helps to the "what the fuck" moment, and ends with Garchomp, which you may have gotten for yourself but is still a very strong opponent
- Special snowflake Gigamax Charizard, the most shilled Pokémon getting ANOTHER special form, and this faggot is the only one who has it (then gifts one to you)
- Instead of letting the player join, he goes on quests that look way more fun that what you're doing. Yes, that would be the adult responsible thing to do, but this is a videogame
