What exactly is your argument?
Most Pokemon game routes have areas all around their routes, none of them are like the first example unless it's an indoor area

Never mattered, most games routes are pretty similar, the problem is that things like caves aren't allowed to have floors in modern games.

Sword and Shield's Route 10(Pretty much Victory Road) was so fucking bullshit, because it had the atmosphere with the snow and music, but it just had to be a stupid linear route.

SM Victory Road was also mediocre. I don't remember XY and BW's victory roads but they were probably linear and mediocre too. All I remember is the Cheren battle

Ironically this is one of the better BW routes(as in multiple BW routes are flat out straight lines) so i have no idea why you'd pick this one if that were the intent.
