Gen 1 I've played too many times already. Gen 2 is fun to replay, but the level curve makes it a bit annoying. In Gen 4 the only game I can stomach replaying is Platinum, since the DP dex is dogshit. Even then, Platinum feels too slow and has too much "HM-backtracking". It's fun to play on emulator though, especially Renegade Platinum and Following Platinum. XY is okay, but feels too similar to Sinnoh. Gen 7 has way too many cutscenes (if there were a cutscene skip option the games would be much better) and Gen 8 is too stale and boring. So that leaves Gen 3 and Gen 5, which are my favorite to replay since they have the least Kanto pandering.
