How the fuck does Pokémon fix E4s conceptually?
Four type masters who are stronger than the gym leaders and the final obstacle between you and the Champ, who are given personalities and faces just like GLs. They're supposed to be badassess, but bar rare exceptions like Flint, Caitlin, Grimsley, and 3/4 of Alola's E4, they never leave the league and thus exist solely as forgettable vehicles to throw a combined 20 high-level mons at you.
How can their presence be improved?
