Red had to carry Blue and Leaf on his back in the tournament as the former was a weak faggot who wasn't being able to handle the champions and the latter was an incompetent joke of a trainer who tags along her childhood "friends" trying to get into their spotlight. Fucking fraud. Blue himself admits it. They weren't even getting along as a team in the end right before the finals.
MC is also a shit tier trainer and only won the tournament because his teambuilding and organization of teamwork is out of this world.
Things get different in solo battles. In Blue's Lodge Story he reveals that the MC just battled against Red solo and he watched it. The MC apparently put up a good fight but still got wiped. Even fucking Ethan jobs to Red in an event that's running right now.
