>>51366298It counting for the ribbon syndicate makes it seem much more tangible. Even if they never implement the pioneer ribbon in a future game, it's still going to be one extra invisible ribbon that the Pokemon has forever. However I think the most likely scenario is this:
After the HOME update for SV is announced, the pioneer ribbon will be added to HOME and they will actually advertise that "hey, if you send your compatible SV mons back to the Arceus game, they can get a swell Pioneer Ribbon just by getting their photo taken!"
