>>51365627>You'd never double switch in doubles. You'd never sacrifice a Pokemon to bring in a revenge killer in doubles.Actually you would be suprised that both of these do happen from time to time.
Say my Whimsicott just setup tailwind and I really want my Cinderace to come in and check this Rillaboom that's opposing my Urshifu Rapid on the field, if I let Whim go down I can bring Cinderace in for free. Sure being down a man sucks in 4v4 but the supreme positioning it gives me makes up for that.
Also, I used Corvaknight somewhat succesfully in s12 for a little bit, not so much to say hes god as much as fuckable. VGC has slept on him.
Many things are big in singles and lsck that presence in doubles; entry hazards, teleport, and baton pass when legal to name a few. But the difference is they can still do something in doubles. Maybe stealth rocks arent amazing in ou doubles, but maybe a shedinja is pinning your team down and would otherwise give you problems late game. Its an option, even if less viable. In contrast Helping Hand, Decorate/Coaching, Heal Pulse, Ally Switch/Follow Me, none of these have ANY practical use in doubles whatsoever, a glorified splash. Teleport may not work the same and Toxapex or Blissey's kit may not work as well when there's 2 enemies gunning you down but the options exist, and while I respect the meta that has functioned for singles I just on principal have to say I see Doubles as having more viable options for strats.
One thing I will concede to about singles is slow bulky Pokemon and stall just can't function in doubles the same way. Speed is a huge factor in doubles that dictates the games.
>>51365693I'm so glad Airstream is leaving. That and the baked in immunities to Torment/Encore type moves makes it way better than it should. I pray Terastilzation lets me lock the enemy into protect again. Also dmax has no effect on Pokemon's weight, its photoprojection, so how do contact moves work fine but weight based moves fuck up?
