Why don't the gen 2 games have any myths about them like the gen 1 and 3 do?

Kanto has missingno and other stuff
Hoenn has Deoxys on the moon, Jirachi inside the white rock and the secret door in mossdeep/slateport
Why doesn't Johto have any rumors?

Yeah, I honestly think Celebi and every mythic afterwards are shitty attempts to get the "Mew effect". Which is understandable, Mew arguably made the game as popular as it is, but there are other ways of doing it.

Kanto was carried hard by Pokemania, plus all the glitches causing things like Missingno to happen. I remember talking to my buddies about that sort of stuff when we were little kids. Not so much for Johto, because by then Pokemania lost most of its steam and wasn't talked about as much.
On the other hand, Hoenn leaned hard into mysteries with stuff like the Regi trio that had valid but extremely obscure solutions. I don't remember it being big the way Kanto was, but I personally spent a long time trying to figure out the braille puzzles on my own.

Literally the other way around. Johto is soulful and feels like a real place with people living in it and doing things daily, meanwhile GSC's Kanto is a hollow shell of its former self with nothing in it, a last minute addition to the game.
When people say shit like this I have to wonder if they even play the games at all or just build up this ideal in their head of each game based on arguing about them.

Kanto being in GSC was so surprising because Johto had already provided a full experience on its own. The idea of is Kanto being a crutch for Johto is a blatant revisionist cope made by shitposters who can't come up with real arguments against Gen2 so they have to srot to spouting compete nonsense in hope that newfans who haven't played will believe them.
