>>51389610The problem is that with political parties you get candidates with God-knows-what personal ideas running for office under a broad "conservative" or "liberal" umbrella, and the voters—whether they care or not—have to pinch their noses and vote for whoever has an R or D after their name whether they agree with that particular candidate's platform or not, just because the other guy is worse. Donald Trump, Mitt Romney, and Ron Paul are all "Republicans", but given the opportunity would run the show totally differently from each other.
