Poliwrath is the one "it just gets bigger" mon that I accept because it's funny.
You get a tadpole mon, and you know tadpoles are supposed to become frogs, but then you evolve it and you just get a bigger, pissed-off tadpole.
It almost feels self-aware in a way. Like GF is parodying the abundance of designs in Kanto where the evo is just bigger and with angrier eyes.

Flareon looks like a fire Eevee. Eevee's fluff is made to look like fire.
Jolteon looks like an electric Eevee. Eevee's fluff is made to stand on end like it's being shocked.
Vaporeon looks like a water Eevee. Eevee's fluff is turned into fins.
They're all very distinctly "Eevee" in their designs and don't necessarily resemble anything else, keeping in line with Eevee being made to look familiar, but not exactly like any real animal.
Espeon is just a purple nekomata. Almost no "Eevee" is retained.

I like golbat's fangs and snake eyes better than whatever they did on crobat, but the elongated feet and cat ears are absolutely idiotic and pretty ruin its design. While crobat's simplicity and cool X-shaped body makes for a far stronger monster design on the whole.

I know the anime chose to depict its closed mouth like this but I think it's off. His body is normally extended like that to suggest its stretching wide to take a huge bite therefore when it's closed its body should definitely be smaller and more rounded
