Technically Red Gyarados but everyone got him. First non-Gyara would be Skrelp in Y. I didn't even know chain fishing raised your shiny odds, I was just looking for a Dragon Scale.

I found a shiny Seel in hgss and ran because I thought my game glitched and that effect should only be for the red Gyarados, so catching that Seel would probably break my game. So stupid since the Johto games try to tell you shinies exist. First shiny I actually caught was the red Gyarados and if that doesn't count it was probably some Kantooo starter in the friend safari in xy, Wartortle but idk

Same, except I wasn't nine.
Was in Crystal and when a blue Rapidash appeared I thought the game glitched out and ran the fuck away.
First caught was a Parasect in SS. But I bred a few before that, can't even remember who was the first.

Rookidee, shinies are usually shitty but shiny Corviknight is pretty cool looking. Was early enough into Shield that they went right into my permanent team.

Either Pidgeotto or Gloom. Seeing them without knowing what a shiny is scared the fuck out of me when I was a kid and I freed them because I worried they could have broke my game.
Magikarp was the first shiny I kept, many years later.

Not counting Red Gyarados then Golbat in Victory Road on Diamond. I had run into one back during Silver years ago but didn't know about shinies until later.

I have yet to ever meet a single shiny in any game since that Golbat (granted I haven't bothered trying at all either), but I do have a bunch in Pokemon GO, one of which is a Shiny Registeel, which is pretty cool.

Predetermined Pidgey encounter on route 1 (that I didn’t know was mandatory until a year ago) was also shiny for me, but my dumb ass accidentally clicked run instead of switch when one of my mons fainted and I was crushed lol. rip 10 year old me, you were not ready for the golden bird just yet

I found a shiny female Wobbuffet in mirror cave during my first play through of X. I caught her in a Heal Ball and infected her with PokeRus. Ultimate pink.

Not my second shiny, but I’m always amazed by this. I was working on a living dex in ORAS and had to breed a Diglett from a Dugtrio to even obtain one. I got one egg and it just so happened to be shiny. Blew my fucking mind at the time.
