Textbook example of QoL in Pokemon: adding a prompt to re-use a Repel once it runs out, without having to open up the menu. That's QoL.
Removing core mechanics (ie: having to gain exp to level up in an RPG) is not QoL.
Another hypothetical example, if they added a way to see the exact EV values in the UI, that's QoL. Removing the need to EV grind is not QoL, that's a game mechanic change. Easy to grasp but redditors are special, their upvotes reinforce mistruths in a loop.
