The "fundamental concept" is already made null with it being resisted by two types and ineffective against another type. If it were truly meant to be a neutral type it wouldn't have these downsides.
Literally everyone is "seething" over Fairy typing, it being so busted is what made Zacian the best Uber of all time.

Ghost and Normal not being effective against each other is half the point. What made Zacian busted was crowned form giving him fairy/steel combo typing and a broken ability with base 148 speed, not just that he was a fairy type. People seethed over megafug long before that

Megafug was mostly retarded because of its ability making half its weaknesses moot. Zacian's Fairy/Steel typing is so good because of how well the types complement each other defensively while Fairy is also ridiculous offensively. The ability is just the icing on t he cake

What is the point? Lore? If that's the case then all the better reason for Fairy to be weak to Normal, since fairy tales aren't real. Not like there's any thematic reason for half the type chart anyway.

Ghosts and normies phasing through each other is almost ubiquitous with ghost stories, it's not that hard to explain. There are zero casual or competitive arguments for Fairy being resisted by Normal type.
And Zacian-Crowned was the second pokemon to join Megafug in AG tier after being too strong for Ubers, so it is valid to compare the two as being too broken for their respective metas at the time of their release. You also forgot to cite other good Fairy-Types in Ubers like Geomancy Xerneas, Tape Lele and Megearna. They're not busted like Zacian-Crowned though so I guess they don't count.

Except that does nothing for the ice types at are already defensive, Anyways having a type that can only be have one play style is dumb. Literally just give Ice at least ONE resistance other than itself. Preferably Flying since Bird Spam and MAx Airstream show that Flying needs to have its wings clipped
>Psychic could probably gain a resistance
If anything it needs an offensive boost. Its only super effective against two types, but resisted by two and completely blocked by Dark.

Honestly unless normal gets some major offense buffs like Return coming back, a 95-100 bp special move being made and Boom Burst fucking being spread out and fix it's abyssmal distribution it's gonna continue to drop hard

and that would be good since STAB and neutrality would help offset that alongside Soundproof nulling it being a good cost for it's instant power. The issue is that only Swellow and Exploud are the only Normals that know it but Exploud is ass and Swellow got dexcut. It's just Normal type in general get screwed over because GF doesn't know what to do with it.

That's not a nerf, because
a) In doubles you could just run a Ground type to cover anything that could beat Fairy
b) In singles, the tiers would keep the Fairy "counters" in the higher tier while the lower tiers suffer.
