>>51435399some people here wish that pokemon were to stand more on the exploration side, since pokemon finally is leaning less on the linear side(Second my little information and assuptions on this gen), where every information should be learnt and kept by plain brain power. Such view would indeed keep the brain more active on the advanture instead of brain dead walk to the next gym and have everything autobattled.
Hence, their belief are correct in the direction of creating a fanbase based on immersion. After all the limits on 2d, now that it finally becomes 3d that abuses on the very open field of creation, it gets weight down by rough ideas such huds, in this case a minimap, which often times is just the start of mess displayed on screen as your partner on this adventure.
The real idea is to have something clean that at most would show if you should stop your advance and back out to a safe town. This in other words is about the something that would count in your ability and tools to keep moving forward.
Naturally gamefreak could just ignore this problem by having a wider options. But this doesn't sounds right. Out of the idea that everyone should be playing the same thing. What comes wrong is the idea that if there were different "ways of playing" it translates in real life to "are you hardcore enough to...", making groups of superior peoples and inferior peoples. This would make a disparity on their audience and the lower will slowly totally leave their boat at some point. As you keep going. The proud would also not have much to be proud of if they were to move on other franchises, it'd never sound anything too hardcore. (Unless pokemon changes to an actually a deep poker game on the story mode)
As conclusion, I've said actually nothing if we were to go into the real details but I should've given you some appetizer on your table.
