It's just a midget Garchomp. The mid-stages looked upon most favorably are the ones who have significant differences from their first and final stages while still looking cohesive within the rest of the line, like Grovyle, Raboot, and Dewott

This, nothing wrong with Gabite it just doesn’t do anything Garchomps designs doesn’t do better, and gible is a better cute version of the design.
All the best mid stagers are mons that could honestly be their own single stagers. I really like mons like Loudred and nuzleaf for example, they’re perfect mid stagers but I can genuinely see them being their own mons

I love this guy so much,
when I was young I wanted to restart my Diamond version and ask a friend to trade my Gabite over to my new save so it could be my starter, it was level 24 so it was over leveled pretty much most the game and would never listen to me but I did love that because I considered him like Ash Charmeleon to me
so this line will always be one of my favorites and gabite specifically stands out to me more than other two

No, you two are just over saturated by Garchomp, most likely because it rapes you when you go up against it in battles. Gabite is unique and based.

Samurott and Oshawott were made before it, and they explicitly said they didn't want to just make a bigger otter for Oshawott's evolutions. Dewott fucked up on all fronts.
