The limited selection is a big part of why they are challenging and their challenge is a big part of why people praise them at all, as it's one of their only qualities outside the battle animations.

Sinnoh was the largest region yet when it came out and it featured so much "exploration" that people got sick of getting lost in HM hell mazes. It was the longest Pokemon game at the time.

XY took me 30-35 hours to fully beat
Colosseum only took me like 10 and that INCLUDES the retarded battle system where animations take 7 seconds to finish

The selection for this type of game was excellent. The game puts more emphasis on teamwork than normal. You're saving Pokemon, not trying to build some ultimate team.

Honestly the best thing would be a new Pokemon Stadium, so we can battle with every Pokemon since Game Freak doesn't want to do that anymore. Maybe there could be a built in Story Mode similar to Colosseum or XD's for catching the remaining Pokemon not in any Gen 8 game.

I liked the limited selection. Used Mon's I'd often not bother with, and built a team consisting of multiple regions (usually ensure I use only those who are native/new)

I can recall my Colosseum team. Umbreon, Espeon, Hariyama, Flygon, Stantler, and Forretress. Forretress I remember fondly, took out 3 of Mt. Battle round 100 fight solo with stall and toxic

No, the limited pokemon available is a big part of the game. Although I would be interested in seeing how good an auction house would be, since all of the pokemon in Orre are imported from other regions I can imagine bidding wars being very common when selling pokemon.
