It was much more of a problem 10 years ago when genwunners were younger adults/teens with more time on their hands who were mad because they were struggling to accept that the series was moving on from them since Gen 5 had so few direct Kanto references in an attempt to have an identity of its own. All the complaining about it surely had to be the reason for all of the Charizard cocksucking and Kanto shoehorning that came in later gens. I think now that people are seeing how blatant it is and that people are getting sick of it, it seems as though it may be starting to get toned down because the people who used to be vocal about it don't care at all anymore, hell there's more complaining about the oversaturation of it now. Seems Charizard not being in PLA at all might be some small seed of that mindset, but we'll have to see with SV.
