Game Freak seems to have an interest in making competitive Pokémon more fair this time around, but they still refuse to address Pokémon's biggest problem, which is type advantage and disadvantage. The entire system - all eighteen types - needs a ground-up overhaul. Once that's done, every move needs a ground-up overhaul. If a move is too strong, remove it. Earthquake comes to mind as a long time offender.
