So, I have been out of the loop for a long while and I'm getting back in the game again in preparation for S/V. Can anyone tell me what's the best way to get a 6IV Ditto in Sw/Sh. I believe you could exploit those dens or something, but did GF patch that up?

Ditto den or Ditto island, You can still use the date switching a reminder you do not have to be online for that
I recommend 5iv dittos you want No good atk or No good speed

before home came out, i farmed a decent set of 4 iv dittos with various natures from the ditto den in the wild area using purple beams only after beating the league. it let me get a start into breeding until i could access my better dittos from home.

Ditto Island is in the first DLC Isle of Armour it has a new Den for Dittos and has several dittos spawn on the island itself if you want to chain instead of grind the den.
You could go for 0 Sp.atk if you want one, Physical attackers can benefit from abit of Sp.atk though for switch moves or a surprise coverage move other wise not possible without the self damage risk.

You sysbot a 6IV Ditto in 3 minutes and that's it.

This, the ditto den is fine but it only guarantees 4IV, so the remaining two on top of that are rolls. This means you have a pretty reasonable 1/32 chance for a 5IV ditto, but 1/1024 for 6IV. Not worth it. If you don't wanna hack it in yourself there's a subleddit that does 6IV ditto for you

The reason people want no-good attack is because it gives a slight edge to special attackers; confusion damage is calculated using physical attack so having a minimum attack stat means less self-damage, as well as reducing damage from Foul Play. However there's no special attack equivelent so on physical attackers it doesn't matter what your special attack stat is.
