I've stopped just before the elite four because I cant decide on a team I like. I just want to use pokemon I like but so many designs in this gen are shit.

It has a very nice environment. I enjoyed it for what it was. Dynamax raiding was my favorite aspect, especially when it was learned that you could lock down Shiny and/or Gmax seeds after the first few months.

I think it could be a phenomenal game whenever hacking catches up to it to tweak things around.

Worst Pokemon game since Gen 5. I started to think they were decent for a time, but then went back and played some actually good gens like 2, 3, and 7 only to realize I was developing fucking Stockholm Syndrome. I really hope gen 9 is a return to form.

It was fine. The biggest flaw was the region itself, Galar has some neat worldbuilding but is utterly boring to explore. If the DLC hadn't given us some decent caves Galar would be a laughing stock in terms of region design. The Pokemon were hit or miss, but the ones that were good are some of my favorites. I honestly like the story overall, Team Yell feels unique to the region, and I would've been totally fine with that being the extent of the "threat" until Eternatus shows up because it would've kept the focus on the League challenge, which is what these games are really about. The "villains" are secondary to the main goal, which is to become champion. It's unfortunate they felt the need to tack on Rose and Macro Cosmos at the very end. It's rushed and shallow and really wasn't remotely necessary.

No pokemon game is unfun to play (except for DP 50% of the time). But SwSh was the most by the numbers and drab I played. I mostly just had fun with the online stuff and some charming moments in the main game

The main problem was that it was the game that brought the dex cut. If it wasn't for that and the dex cut instead came with Gen 9 then SwSh would probably be considered the best Pokemon games since Gen 5.

The only thing that SW/SH has achieved is being objectively the worst mainline Pokemon game ever made. I don't know if S/V will be mediocre games but i'm pretty sure that they will at least be better than SW/SH.

As someone who quit playing pokemon back in gen 5 who came back for the remakes and got shield on sale this year.
Shield is pretty good. "raid" dens are the best thing to happen to Pokemon since the DS era. A PvE end/post game multiplayer feature is something the franchise has needed for along time. Something you and your friends can do together besides trading and battles. Dynamax Adventures need to be made in a full dungeon system. As in you and a group of other trains make your way though fighting hoards of shitmons and fully evolved rare pokemon with the end having a legendary/mythical.

I actually really enjoyed it but not because of the game itself it was because i played sword whilenmy roomate played shield and we did like a pseudo coop thru the whole game. Ended up selling my switch later on and moving then got another and redownloaded and had to play again by myself and it was significantly less enjoyable. I really cant fathom why anyone likes the DLC more though its way worse than the main game. Bede is a fucking thug of a rival though. Just talking to your boss and his bitch after destroying a mural and saying "did you two step in the way of a Pokemons simple beam" was the funniest line in the history of the franchise and then he just interrupts the fucking endgame tournament to make himself a challenger. He gives no fucks and i appreciate it alot.

Great ideas but 80% badly executed
Raid battles - Borring A pressing fest
They finally made each pokemon easily fixable but its all souless item grind and not fun training minigames to play on camp
Camp and curry making was very good idea but needed more toys and customizability like that cool room in XY
Dynamax was fun in game as hardmode but its cancer in meta

Mints and Battle Tower not being an excessive waste of time are features I've recently come to appreciate. Of the old bros I can get into the game, I've been able to improve most of them which is certainly nice.
