Why aren't the Pokemon jumping around for no reason to make the fight more exciting and cinematic?
You realize the games where they just stand around waiting for each other's turns is just an -abstraction- of a real battle right? Like, it's only like that for the sake of gameplay? Just like how when you walk in the tall grass you're not suddenly transported to the battle dimension where everything is suddenly way more detailed.
The anime should convey what a Pokemon battle would actually be like, not just be a literal animated translation of the games.
