The last time I played a MD game was Red on GBA as a kid. I have an urge to play another one and I have a 3ds laying around. Which is the best one for 3ds? I have no idea as I've not kept up with pokemon at all past gen 3.
What has the best story, best roster and endgame? Cos I remember being really amazed at how much there was to do in red rescue team after stopping the meteor and everything about ninetails/gengar/gardevoir hooked me really well.

Most people think Explorers of Sky for the DS is the best PMD. Many of them haven't even touched any other PMD though. Some of them claim it's the best game of all time (it's also the only one they played). People who have played the entire series tend to have either Sky or Super as their favorite. Many claim Super has the best gameplay. Rescue Team used to be quite popular too, but a lot of people have been criticizing it since the remake came out, as many prefer that. A lot of people like Gates to Infinity for the story, but very few like its gameplay, which is lacking. Most people haven't played Adventure Squad, because it's Japan only, but it recently got a fantranslation. People still don't want to play it because it has a simple story and is harder than the other games. If you liked Rescue Team's non linear postgame stories, unfortunately that isn't a thing in the other games. Gates to Infinity and Super have very little postgame story (although Super still has tons of postgame content). Explorers of Sky has a long, long, postgame, but it plays exactly like the main story. Also has unlockable bonus side stories too.

I'm talking about people who actually play the game instead of staring at pixel art while ignoring the terrible mechanics associated with it like the limited recruitment limits and party disbanding after every single dungeon. I prefer RT over RTDX, but if you're crazy if you think being able to walk in friend areas is the most important aspect of the game.

It's the comfiest one that keeps makes me come back to it. Makes sense because it's unique and they couldn't bother afterwards.
