>>51487809>>51488031I wanted to elaborate a bit on this with a visual aid. This is a chart of sold prices for 1st ed PSA 8 Neo Genesis Feraligatr (I chose it not for any real reason, but because I lost an auction on it yesterday, so it's fresh in my mind). For nearly two years, you'd have to be exceptionally lucky to find a copy for less than $200. And during that period, it was trending around $300-400 for a year or so. Just yesterday, a copy sold on eBay for $98.
Prior to the pandemic boom, the card ticked up to around $70 (and neo cards were trending up for a couple years before that). This kind of increase over two years really isn't so bad -- it's not significantly less accessible than it was years prior.
So all this is to say that, sure, a lot of big grails might be less accessible now, but there are still plenty of cool vintage cards that fit a variety of budgets. And more than that, while it's seriously unlikely we'll go back to pre-2018 prices, now isn't really all that bad a time to pick up some vintage cards you had totally written off over the past couple years. Frankly, there's probably going to be no better time to buy these cards than the next few months.
