>>51490706grookey and zarude in the same gen too. i have a theory that lately, they get people to submit ideas for a specific design they want (in this case, vine monkey) and if they really like more than is necessary for that line, they make one of them into a new species, as if it wont be obvious that the themes are weirdly similar, especially in the same gen. another anon pointed out that the two dlc horses may have been alternate possibilities for ponytas galarian form before psych/fairy was chosen, but were remade into legendaries rather than scrapping the entire design. there are way too many instances where this seems applicable for it to just be a coincidence, imo. i just wish theyd wait a few gens before introducing a peanut butter and jelly sandwich mon, and then two separate unrelated mons resembling peanut butter on bread and jelly on bread while trying to pass all 3 off as unique ideas
