Too much free healing

Why is free healing so abundant throughout the games? You can rarely go more than 10 trainers before the game will put some healing stop in your path, even in the old games. They’ll oftentimes put free healing spots IN dungeons for fucks sake, even before gen 5 introduced nurses. Money is so plentiful and bag space is unlimited, potions and such exist for a reason, they could easily afford to make you fight 25+ trainers in a row without any free healing, then you’d actually have a reason to spend the excess of money you get but they never do that. 1 way level design is nothing new for the series either so they could even restrict your ability to just run back to a Pokémon Center. The games could easily make up for the lack of challenge in individual battles by leaning into the resource management aspect without even changing anything about the series, but they just dont. I don’t get it. It’s so lame.
