The point is unless the mon in question is some dumb godlike being, its probably not unique. Why does Darkrai come off as unique exactly? Its just some nightmare monster.
Manaphy clearly can't be unique either, Shaymins non-unique aspect is incredibly pushed. Why would darkrai be an exception?

By all virtues he fucked off post the tournament because the writers can not actually have this kinda character exist, as he's actively competing and at a point where he should very quickly escalate past any viable opponents.
