>>51479606>>51479631>>51479881>>51479891You understand that the point of this post is not to know if nuzlock runs are good or bad, or in line with pokémons values or not, or even to know if nintendo should oppose it or not. I don't give a damn, I've never done a nuzlock in my life, I don't watch nuzlock runs, I'm not interested in them, I have no opinion on it.
The goal is to have a little bit of a constructive discussion about a question that comes up quite frequently on /vp/ which is : why, when great Nintendo licenses like Zelda or Mario manage to either renew themselves (BOTW, Mario Galaxy) or to make excellent games following old recipes (Super Mario 3D World/Bowser's Fury, Links Awakening), why then are the new pokémon games at best disappointing, at worst very bad ?
It seems to me that there is an element of answer in this interview. For other games, the creators can go very far in their ideas, even if afterwards, these ideas are completely rewritten or even removed. Pic related: this is the concept art for botw. It sucks, and fortunately they didn't go in that direction, but at least it's a try! Mistakes, in this kind of case, are as important as good ideas, they allow to determine exactly what is interesting.
But it seems that for pokémon, you CANNOT come up with this kind of concept. So the games are stuck in a childish and tasteless recipe, where lame gimmicks are piled up and are supposed to make you want to buy the new game.
THAT is what is interesting about this video.
