The SWSH battle tower basically didn't exist either. Aside from Leon 99% of the NPCs didn't use Dynamax which made it a complete joke.

As long as there's something equivalent to the "battle facility" modes that PLA had I'd probably be okay with it. Although the Eternal Battle Reverie mode wasn't added until they did the one update.

This'll probably mean the most to Ribbon collectors, since they can use this as confirmation the Tower Master ribbon won't be available in SV and they need to pick it up in SWSH (easy) or in BDSP (absolutely nightmarish) before transferring forward.

Well, it's possible that being open world made them focus the postgame more on exploration and quests rather than throwing in a standard battle facility and calling it a day. In the era of ranked battles and online competitions I honestly haven't cared about the Battle Tower outside of grinding BP.

I played it to completion in PLA. I even gave BDSP's battle tower a fair shot, but my team options were way more limited in that game because I couldn't get a high IV Ditto.

In the battle tower/tree etc. You could use whatever team. Even your in game squad. However, in online battles, your choice would get reduced to the same set of legendaries or shilled pokemon.

I know I can beat the game by not playing seriously, but it doesn't change the fact that it's a grating feeling to put up with such bullshit all the time, and that's supposed to make me the tryhard for playing with off-meta/non-legendary pokemon.

Genies of healthy meta are sub legendaries and not OP. Dogs/Weather trio are box legendaries and ding dong bannu. This is a deck building game you can't just bring 6 random Pokemon with no synergy and win like campaign and you can't do that in battle tower either.
