But this is the same kid who last week walked up to me because he heard I was in a Pokemon and then went on a huge autistic spaz fest about how into Pokemon he was. He showed me his Pokemon discord, pulled up pictures of some of his Pokemon merch, and was picking my brain to see if I was going to buy Scarlet or violet because the leaks to him sounded really cool. Come to find out we have our second conversation and it's pretty much what I said in the other post. The kid is completely fucking clueless. But I think that's pretty true of most zoomers who are into fandoms. They rave about something but don't actually do the thing they're raving about. I had another similar conversation with a younger teen, like 13, who was talking about how Eevee was their favorite Pokemon and how much Eevee stuff they owned. But then when I pointed out Flareon on their t-shirt and said that was my favorite, they got mad because that wasn't how they learned to pronounce the name and I was doing it wrong. So yeah, that generation is a fucking mixed bag of over stimulated dopamine addicts who don't even know how to critically think
