It seems like competitors actually despise Z-moves and Alola hence why only Ash is seen using one and is the only rep from that region (despite being from Kanto).

In real life, Kanto would probably consider Ash a traitor since Lance lost while Ash advanced to face Leon but is representing Alola instead. I'm glad the Pokemon world is a happy place where things like these don't come up.

Shit is not like in the games where you can slap gimmicks on a pokemon and it will work

When ash first used it Pikachu had trouble moving, it’s even worse for z moves bacause you have to master the pose and sync with your pokemon, lillie barely learned to use ice z moves by the end of the sun and moon anime
