>>51523172It's not difficult to do a better pokemon game but pokemon had a few thing no other franchise has/had. It was the first proper monster catching game world wide, pokemania was HUGE, it's effects are felt to this day, no one has the gigantic marketing pokemon has, no one has a over two decades old fanbase who groom their own kids to play it, not many companies want to or can try a global approach like pokemon and not many franchises have almost 1000 critters, only 5 series have more, Digimon, DQ, Yo-Kai Watch and maybe SMT have more and the former 3 have a lot of recolors. Pokemon has a very simple concept, tame those magical animals and use them into elemental rock-paper-scissors, it works because it's simple anyone can jump in and get off of being the very best, we all did it or do it still, it's not difficult to replicate but it doesn't have the pokemon brand so people who care about pokemon won't bother.
