So if BDSP's existence was for the zoomzooms to get familiarized with Sinnoh before getting into PLA, why did PLA have characters related to Platinum-only characters?

There's literally only one new innovation and that's the catching loop.
FFX turn based combat with pokemon is nothing innovative. It did away with the one innovative factor in the core games, which was always the battle system
Action based Combat would have been cool if it was our Pokemon fighting and not just throwing bags.

A lot of the pokemon fans became serious with Pokemon because of Gen 4, that's where that rise came from
A lot of long time fans say their favorite was 4 specifically for that reason and because Wifi battles was actually a thing. Communication became peak instead of being forced to meet face to face to battle with friends.

Z starts at 1995 if I'm not mistaken. The early ones remember both Gen 3 and 4 when they were new, I think whatever's after us is too young to know.

Gen Z starts in 1997, they're first games would likely have been DP, assuming they were purchased around release. I was born in 95 and my first games were rby because I was the end of the hand-me-down line and my parents didn't have much money when I was little.

Because BDSP was outright sabotage by Masuda. He purposefully directed the ILCA team to make the worst remakes possible in order to make GameFreak seem competent by comparison. That way, none of the higher ups get the idea to hand control of the games to another company, because now the idea is associated with 'failure'.
