All three are grouped together in the dex
All three got pre-evos in gen 2
All three were the only Pokemon aside from Hitmonchan to get the elemental punches in gen 1.

Pokemon named with similar names, used as version exclusives and drawn together in early 90s artwork (while Jynx is never drawn with them) is more proof than muh pokedex order and muh pre-evo, unless you think Farfetch'd is related to Doduo or Pikachu/Clefairy/Jigglypuff are a trio

Even if it was a trio it doesn't have to stay a trio. There are tons of Pokemon that parallel other Pokemon early on that diverge later.

Jynx is on thin ice, pun intended, for the whole racial stereotype thing. That aspect of our culture has only gotten more intense with time, meaning there's less and less incentive to bring Jynx back into the forefront of people's attention spans.

Jynx is a counterpart to Mr. Mime. Both are psychic-type humanoids, one masculine and one feminine, both had the same BST (340) and both are trade exclusive in Gen 1. Magmar and Electabuzz are version exclusives, have similar names in Japanese (Boober and Eleboo) and had the same BST (395)

I wouldn't be surprised if Jynx ends up happening in Scarlet and Violet or follow up games since Gen 8 did clean up and added more counterparts, evolutions and variations to other Pokemon like the Regi's, Wyrdeer, Kleavor, Ursaluna, and Enamorus

There are plenty of duos/trios that got asymmetric treatment. Skarmory and Mantine have the same stats, just swapped for physical and special, and were exclusives for Silver and Gold respectively, but only Mantine got a pre-evolution. Pinsir and Scyther were equivalent version exclusive bugs, but Pinsir never got an evolution, just a mega while Scyther got two evolutions, one of which got a mega. Gyarados and Milotic are the same as Mantine and Skarmory, just from different gens, but Milotic didn't get a mega.

tl;dr there is no justice in this world.
