And if the eggs are just dirt and plant matter and the pokémon are placed inside the egg to finish growing, they had to start developing from somewhere and as they're pretty much animals in a near-earth-like world (to the point the humans are stated to be just like humans here, albeit with generational genetic resistance to pokémon elemental energy), confirmed to eat and poop and fight for territory and possess all other signs of life, the majority of them most likely act like marsupial births to facilitate putting the pokémon in the dirt/plant egg.
