Should Black and White's remakes be BW3? I don't see how you could mash BW and BW2 into its own thing like how the other remakes are like that for Yellow, Crystal, Emerald and Platinum

No because games are remade to introduce earlier gens to new players. Also, they can create a post game story with some plot points from BW2.
Also, it's not like BDSP tried preserving the Platinum content.

This implies that Nu Freak/ILCA gives a shit about meaningful postgame
At best, you'll probably get a 15 dollar DLC adding the B2W2 areas into the Black & White remake with an extra battle against Roxie.
At worst, it'll be like BDSP and they'll ignore the sequels/third version.

They exist because of Game Freak anon. The fact they started this shit back when zoomies started entering the brand's orbit (when TPCi was still Pokémon USA and Pokémon Europe) just proves that. And given they outright said "we're going to continue to remake older games" you should have seen the writing on the wall.

They weren't even made by gamefreak employees which proves that in a normal situation they'd only have done legends. In fact PTSD isn't but "make DPP but with slightly different lighting and 3d models", just because a porting would've sold less.

No anon, they were planned to explain Legends, they got passed off to the whos, as Game Freak had more important things, like working towards SV's open world, than to go back and port your childhood. It's something that looks nothing like the three existing pokémon anon. When the OD split, the bits that became Reshiram and Zekrom morphed into those forms, while the "shell" of the OD warped into what eventually became Kyurem.

BW and BW2 released on Virtual Console equivalent with BW3 being the current Gen release.

But it’s more likely we’re getting a BDSP treatment for BW, BW2 gets forgotten with at most having some off it’s elements referenced in Legends Kyurem.

And Yee-Haw Legends Unova involving the OG Dragon can technically happen if they take a Mega timeline approach similar to ORAS. Use the alt timelines to explain how the hell it’s showing up now and why the N stuff happens a century or so later.

Then they wouldn't be remakes.

But yeah, other than making some sort of new game+ with internal memory link then I don't see BW2 happening.
Just BW remake with, at most, some references.

Then again, both instances share a lot of assets due to their very nature so we might even get it if only because you have an excuse to be cheap.
