Idk if this applies to the games as well, but in the anime pokemon moves don't do nearly enough damage to humans. Though it might have something to do with the weird lore about humans and pokemon being the same

Because they play pokémpon attacking humans up for laughs in the thing. They already skirt the line between cutesy critter playbattles and dogfighting, why the fuck do you think they'd show pokémon attacks crippling people left, right and centre?

Or when the god who made the universe apparently got shat on by a meteor?
Or when a champion's ace Pokemon didn't even kill a random human grunt with its strongest move?
Or in PMD when the God of Time or God of the Sky just gets taken down by a few unevolved shitmons hitting them a few times?

Pokemon has always been hilariously weak, it shouldn't have taken until the balm shit in PLA for people to realize it.

You wanna be "smart" and pit real life creatures vs fictional ones, best actually take the real life animal behaviours into account. 3 trillion lions? Worthless when one Charizard can set some on fire and have them cause a panic-filled stampede and that's ignoring every other pokémon that can manipulate the Fire elemental energies (either naturally or by coverage) picking off more along the lines.

Shows Hoopa fixing the damage he'd done, casualties aren't noted. You wanna prove a point, should have maybe used Ash getting turned to stone, but even then, he got better like everything. (Arceus was even stated to be involved with fixing Hoopa's mess, so it could have revived/healed the injured/dead either).
Wow, 26 years and the best examples you can give me are from a decanonised episode and a non-canon movie, which shows everything being returned to normal. Almost as if the whole point is not to show humans being killed in a kiddy IP about colourful cartoony monsters.

I always assumed it was less a matter of weakness and more a matter of willingness to do harm. The Pokedex goes through great effort to portray many Pokemon as extremely destructive but the existence and quality of life in the Pokemon world doesn't really jive with that. They have the ability but they just don't seem to have the intent. There are no Gyarados or Tyranitar pointlessly laying waste to their surrounding with Hyper Beams just because they can.
