>>51535994>Yes, it's easy, because you're mashing the A button while RNG does all the work.Nta but the skill involved is supposed to be knowing how to respond to the outcome of the RNG. For example, if a mon you’re trying to catch knows a suicide move you need to do whatever you can to prevent it from using that move, like sending out a mon with damp or disabling the move (only works in gen 1 for obvious reasons). Stuff like that. You need to be able to account for the randomness.
That said, I fully admit that 95% of the time it ultimately just boils to getting it low on health and keeping it under a status condition, it’s definitely not a very fun aspect of the gameplay. But to imply it takes 0 skill is just wrong, it only feels that way to you because it’s second nature for you now, any child or newcomer would need to figure out all the steps needed to catch Pokémon in the most optimal way possible.
Like, moving a chess piece from one space to another takes exactly as much skill as clicking a move in Pokémon, so does chess take no skill? No, and it’s the same for Pokémon
TLDR knowing what to do IS the skill
