I think it’s neat. Problem is the show has been getting production issues over the last few months and the weekly formula has been a detriment now with the breaks and recaps

The problem is, anon, that the anime will always be a commercial to sell the games and merchandising.
Also, about seasonal anime:

cancellations don't actually happen during production anymore
and if something actually goes wrong enough for it to get "cancelled"
