>>51565285I think their logic was that it was going to be the ultra beast killer based on Arceus, but the designers didn't really think that through all the way. Because there's nothing about Arceus that really counteracts an ultra beast. So this Pokemon ends up being a poor man's Arceus that can't really do anything useful. What they should have done is fix it in generation 8 or the ultra games. I would hope that they would go back and fix it in a potential remake or what have you, but we'll see. Here's my proposed changes however
>Make the memories into a key item like the Rotom Catalog. Now it can hold items and the different types are just treated like form changes which is what they technically are >Buff its stats to 100 across the board or switch it up a bit where speed is now 110, HP and the defenses become 90, and both attacks become 100. I know that game freak was probably averse to making it have legendary / mythical stats, but they also invented megas and the ultra beasts so... Who cares
>Give it access to many more moves. I don't care if that means you let it learn a bunch more TMs or add more stuff to its level up pool or tutor moves, which actually makes sense. But it needs to have more access to more stuff. You can even add a gimmick where the types of moves that it learns will change based on the type it is, but the moves will stick even if it changes type again.>Give its ability a buff so that not only will it change type but it will also retain normal type stab. That's something unique and could actually be interesting>Make its signature move deal more damage against ultra beasts. That's more for flavor but I don't know why it doesn't work that way
