What you got against grooky? I have yet to play gen 8 but of all the starters he's by far the best. The fire and water starters just look weird and I've never been a fan of bipedal anthropomorphized mons. At least rillaboom is only quasi-bipedal like real life gorillas.

It was very clearly withheld on purpose. It's kind of odd that they tried to make each of the three starters Gou's important partner in waves.
