It's more that Sword and Shield was a beta test.

The Wild Area evolved into PLA, which evolved into SV's open world.

Mind, we could have had open world from the get-go with Gen 8, had they culled the 'dex in Gen 7 like they'd planned to, as they even knew it was getting too hard at that stage. But they decided to be nice to you autists, give you one last hurrah which yis still shit on, until Dexit then it became "the best game ever as it has all the pokémon111".

Discussion of games can lead to improvement, but that doesn't mean all change only happens because of blind criticism. SV have been planned since at least 2019, the devs talked about it multiple times. Seeing the result of that plan now after saying it didn't exist for 3 years and then claiming it only happened because of the criticism is insane.

SV will still be trashfire games made to handhold idiots and milk money from retards through cut content sold as DLC and holding your "bros" (read: strings of 0s and 1s) hostage on long term online paid services, they know you desperately hope you'll be able to transfer them in future games.
The criticism is completely right but for each anon that wisens up there are 10 more retards paying $60 + online fees + tip to get their fix of mediocre monster catching brand. Paying with your wallet is useless if the fanbase is largely composed of idiots that eat everything up.
