>>51577194Diamond and Pearl are made obsolete by Platinum. This isn’t like with HGSS vs Crystal or FRLG vs RBY, there is NO benefit to picking Diamond or Pearl unless you REALLY want to use Dialga or Palkia for the storyline. Platinum has a much better dex that actually includes most of the new evolutions, better looking locations, more content to do after the E4, better balancing, and it’s even (a little bit) faster.
People tend to dislike X and Y because a lot of problems that plague the series today can be traced back to those two, such as the much more extreme handholding, easier gameplay, and the 2D sprites being more appealing than the 3D we got. Most people forgave the faults it has when it came out thinking it was just stumbling from the jump to 3D, but now it’s clear it was a shift in direction.
