>>51588022>What makes you retards think>>Dynamax is stronger than Terastal if you make them battle each other>>Therefore Terastal meta is healthierThat is a good point that just because Dynamax is more of a problem than Tera that doesn’t mean Tera won’t be problematic too.
Based on what we know, however, Terastallize is by far the most tame of the gimmicks since it
>Changes your type to a mono type>May add Super STAB but only if your Tera type matches one of your original typesIf you are using something like Volcanion and Terastallize into a Ground type, you gain STAB for Earthpower and also the defensive utility of being mono ground with Water Absorb, but lose STAB for Steam Eruption and Fire Blast, as well as your defensive utility with Water/Fire. Likewise, Water Tera or Fire Tera would give you Volcanion its respective Super STABs but makes you mono water or fire.
So basically, good Pokemon with good typings have only niche uses, while bad Pokemon with bad typings utilize the mechanic the best, but you’re still bringing Pokemon like Avalugg or Articuno to Pokemon they otherwise get stomped by.
There are some exceptions that come to mind like Zeraora, Mew, Blissey, and Clefable, but it’s generally the rule seen above.
Unless Super STAB is like x3 or something, I doubt Terastallize would be a universal problem.
>Both players have access to both mechanics. Terastal is almost purely offensive utility while Dynamax had defensive applications. Therefore Tera will just be unga meta. Now that part about Tera is just flat out false. Being able to compliment your type’s weaknesses has great utility. Because you’re shifting your weaknesses around, this is definitely smarter defensive utility than Dynamax.
