>>51592749No. ESPECIALLY not with that team.
He should have been an optional post-game battle, like Red.
In fact, Gen 2 (and its remakes) didn't include enough secret battles. Sure there's Red and the Karate King, as well as the double battle with Lance and Clair in the remakes, but not too much outside of that. They even have characters in there that would have been great battles:
>Prof. OakAs a nod to the planned battle in Gen 1, where his team is still in the game files.
>Maylene and WakeThey already have high-level rematch teams from Platinum and show up in the game
>StevenCynthia got this treatment in B/W, and Red was technically Champion of another Region than the player's home. It fits.
>LeafWith her, Red and Blue in the game, a Kanto Starter could be given to each (RNG calculated every new save file to prevent a "canon" choice)
>AgathaHer and Oak are canonically only 50 or so. She didn't drop dead of old age. Where the FUCK did she go?
>LoreleiShe goes back to the League at the end of FR/LG's postgame, and no Canon source even hints at her trooning out into Will.
>>51593372It's an interwsting way to design a Pokémon game, and one that GF seemingly dropped after BW2, though I think more emphasis should have been placed on new content (New mons being most prevalent is a start, but new characters would be better off driving the story. I would totally be fine with, for example, Clair being the Johto Champion, and Lance the 8th Gym Leader like how Blue takes up the mantle in Viridian)
