Honestly, it kinda makes me respect them a little more. In the past, whenever a new Pokemon leaked they tripped over themselves to officially announce it as fast as possible, only for it to fade from people's minds over time.
This time they seem aware that only a small minority even care about the leaks and are instead keeping everything close to their chest so that it can make as big of an impact as possible, probably a week or so before the games come out to maximize profits.
