After foraying into this world, I don't think I have it in me to criticize Game Freak anymore. Especially when I think about how they first started, they didn't have engines like we do today to streamline the process of pretty much everything. They had devkits, mind you, but nothing like Unity or RPGMaker. That people mocked BDSP for being built on Unity is nuts to me. Game Freak used to make games in a handful of Notepads.
ROM hacking elitists disgust me, piggybacking off of code and systems that Game Freak wrote 20+ years ago, in an effort to criticize them is nuts.
