>>51607367That definitely isn’t the case though.
Preperation is basically 50% of the game. Every team prepares for individual Pokemon and team styles with their 6 Pokemon, and often multiple Pokemon. With Terastallization, you can have defensive Pokemon prepare for way more offensive Pokemon than offensive Pokemon can do for defensive Pokemon.
Like take a look at Heatran. It can check the likes of Volcarona and Tornadus-T, a long with a lot more Pokemon. What it normally can’t check is Pokemon like Landorus-T and Barraskewda. With Terastallization, Heatran can prepare for Volcarona, Tornadus-T, Landorus-T, and Barraskewda with Grass Tera type. It can remain a Fire/Steel type for Volcarona, Tornadus-T, Dragapult, ect. while also being able to check Barraskewda, Excadrill, and Landorus-T.
Meanwhile, offensive Pokemon only get coverage they already have, Tera Blast, which is weak and costs their other STABs, and Super STAB that only doubles down on one type. It sounds scary to Terastallize Regieleki for Super STAB until you realize it still can’t do shit against most Ground types and now any team can pack a Ground type without actually having a Ground type. Victini spamming Super STAB V-Create sounds nasty until your realize you can pack make anything with good physical bulk into a Fire resist. Victini can also become Electric for Bolt Strike STAB, but it then loses V-Create STAB and Fire resist doesn’t have to be Water/Tera Water and it also does a shit ton anyways.
tl;dr
Defensive Pokemon can check wider range of threats while Offensive Pokemon can marginally do better against different walls.
Also, let’s not forget that you can be Ghost in Doubles to avoid Fake Out without anti-priority or the new cloak item.
