Are you kidding me? Of course they are! They're all so expressive and unique. Even if it's just a simple move that would otherwise need no animation, Stadium gives them one. Just look at Snorlax. The dude can actually dropkick when he uses Mega Kick.

I would be fine with a new Pokemon game with only 300 monsters if there was a lot of attention paid to each one, and if the game were actually good of course.

One thing I'd like to see Pokemon try someday is just allowing the designers to tweak Pokemon as they see fit to match the world of the game. The way Final Fantasy has different styles of Moogle, etc. Obviously with a better art style than what we have right now. I think a game with complete revamped movesets and even typings and type effectiveness would be good too.

Also, we need the league tournament to be a bigger part of the story in a Pokemon game. Like, with midgame qualifying rounds and different potential matchups. And having several potential rivals who challenge you at gyms too.

They already do regional variants, but I agree they should get off their fat asses and make more of them every gen.

Spin-off games in general are superior to mainline, Game Freak wastes too much time making new gen content trying to "wow" their audience with mediocre results instead of delivering a good gaming experience, observe how most of this franchise's profit comes from merch and side-content, not games.

Most media properties get most of their money from merch. It is the reason why they don't bother putting effort into the games. Why spend so much money and effort into making a game when you can make an Eevee plush with a santa hat for 15cents and sell it for 30 bucks?

There's no issue in reusing assets if you focus on making everything else in the game good, even Nintendo devs do that most of the time and their games are always above the 7/10 grade. Pokemon games in general don't have the same luxury, Colosseum and XD in particular were great because the devs weren't fans or even involved with pokemon at all before starting development, so they didn't have any previous notions on what to do and were generally given more freedom. Compare the animations and soundtrack fonts of any spin-off game with mainline and you will instantly understand what i mean.

Been emulating Stadium 2 on my phone. Rentals fucking suck(which is evil cause they were decent in stadium 1, no reason to make them bad other than jewery) but it's a very soulful game. The models and animations are so good that imo these the best looking versions of certain gen 1 mons.
