>>51615709As much as I enjoyed PLA encounters for catching and quickly filling up the Dex, and I think it might be a better system, I can’t pretend that it’s objectively a bad thing to go back to the old fashioned system.
PLA System - Emphasis on catching
Classic System - Emphasis on battling to catch
Wild battles were never super fun, but it works to familiarise players with the basic battle system and isn’t as much of an issue since you’re not expected to catch as much Pokémon.
Also, battles now take place in the overworld so they’ll hopefully be a lot faster due to less loading. I’m hoping the text is a lot faster but I’m doubting it.
